How do I locate my position?

The location indicator will only work with devices which have location based services.
If you get a message saying "Access to your current location was not allowed" it means it has become switched off.
Go to the Phone Settings>Location Services> and turn your Atlas/Solo map to ON

To locate your position on the map touch the circular locate icon on the left side of the bottom menu bar.

The location icon is then filled in whilst the device tries to locate your position.

As the GPS tries to get a signal a blue circle with fine cross hair will appear on the map with a large red circle around it.

As the GPS signal gets stronger the red circle will diminish to a blue circle around the inner main inner locate circle.

When the GPS signal is at it’s best a fine green circle will be seen around the edge of the blue locate circle.

A direction triangle will appear outside the circle.

The locate circle will follow you as you move and will stay central to the screen.

If you scroll the map away from your current location autopan will be turned off.
To re-centralise the location indicator on the map, simply touch the locate icon again.

There are three states to the location icon:

  • Off (empty crosshair)

  • Autopan (full dot in crosshairs)
The Autopan state will mean that the location indicator will always be central to the screen and the map will move below it. Use the lock feature too so that you don't inadvertently put the location indicator into the On state.

  • On (smaller dot in crosshairs)
The location indicator will show but the map will not autopan with your movement.

You can save your movements as tracks by using the track icon next to the locate icon on the bottom menu bar.
