Navigate with RouteBuddy

Please note that RouteBuddy is, primarily, route planning software. Navigation with RouteBuddy should not be solely relied upon and we strongly advise that you read guidance in the RouteBuddy EULA

Some devices enable you to navigate using a real-time satellite signal from the device to the computer.
Connect your GPS receiver to the computer (Bluetooth or USB) and when a satellite signal is picked up by the device you should see the device position on the map.
Please note that not all devices can act as receivers when connected to RouteBuddy

You use Navigate to give you turn by turn directions along a route you have previously set up using the Route tool.
You can also navigate from your current position to a pre-defined waypoint.
Win Nav With

  • Connect your GPS receiver. When it shows that satellite signals are being recieved to locate the device it will appear as a blue circle on the map
  • Click on the Navigate icon in the Toolbar or the Navigate icon in the Library Source List
  • The Content Panel will change and offer you the choice of which device you want to navigate with and the route you want to use. 
  • You have the option to make sure the device location is always map centred by clicking Keep Visible.
  • RouteBuddy will then be ready to give you turn by turn directions for the route you have selected
  • Click Start to begin navigation

If you want to navigate from the your current position to a predefined waypoint:

  • Connect your GPS receiver and wait for it to get a signal
  • Highlight the waypoint to which you want to Navigate
  • Choose Tools  from the Menu bar and click ‘Navigate to’.
