The Options / Preferences window allows you to choose your default RouteBuddy settings.
To access this window:
Windows: Select Tools > Options from the Menu Bar
Mac: Select RouteBuddy > Preferences from the Menu Bar
General
Appearance:
Measurement: to change between Imperial and Metric units
Coordinates style: Choose between ddd.ddddd; ddd mm.mmm; ddd mm ss.ss; OS Grid Reference
Maps
If your computer supports it, RouteBuddy will use OpenGL to increase performance while drawing maps. If you experience problems with the map display, such as corrupt or blank images, we recommend selecting Software rendering instead. This can be found on the General tab in the Options/Preferences window.

Provide spoken guidance - turn on or off
You can click to select none of these hazards to avoid or any combination of them.
Routing
Route For: Vehicles (for Road Maps using the Network data contained in the map) Direct Travel (Road or Topo maps - route between specific points which you set)
Select to route by either: Quickest journey Shortest distance
Select more parameters to: Avoid toll roads Avoid major highways Avoid unpaved roads
Style
Here you can change the style, size, colour and opacity of lines for Routes and Tracks
Devices
When importing data from Devices you can choose to convert the text to: Capitalized sentences Capitalized words UPPER CASE lower case
Updates
Schedule the frequency that RouteBuddy checks for software updates or check manually by clicking Check Now
